First Time Hurricane hits Orange County in 2011

In 2011, Hurricane Irene was the first large hurricane to hit the east coast that caused serious damage to Orange County, NY. The morning after the storm, Sunday morning, SERVPRO of Orange, Sullivan & S. Ulster Counties received over 400 calls within 5 hours. SERVPRO was prepared before the hurricane came through by calling other SERVPROs in the area so they were prepared to come and help. Once calls started coming through, SERVPROs from Ohio, Rhode Island and Syracuse came in to help our SERVPRO get to customers in our area who needed help.

SERVPRO was non-stop for 12 weeks, without any days off. Working almost around the clock to get to people’s homes and businesses and help them in their time of need.
